The New Westsiders
|
The New Westsiders is open to women who are new to the west side of Cleveland. Membership is open to individuals who have lived less than two years in Avon, Avon Lake, Bay Village, Fairview Park, Lakewood, North Olmsted, North Ridgeville, Rocky River, and Westlake. A limited number of memberships are available to new residents outside of these areas. (If you live elsewhere in Cleveland, you may be eligible to join an unaffiliated group, the New Clevelanders.) Founded in 1970, the New Westsiders' mission is to foster friendships, to provide social activities, and to support each other as we settle in the Cleveland area. Since membership is limited to four years, the group is always evolving, and members are eager to make new friends and establish new support networks. The New Westsiders meet monthly over lunch, and a short program of general interest typically follows. The luncheon is always optional, but we hope you choose to join us. It’s a great way to make new friends and to try new restaurants. Program topics are fairly short and light and range from wine tasting and exercise to financial planning and decorating. In addition to the luncheon, there are numerous activities offered each month. You’ll be introduced to local restaurants, special attractions, and cultural opportunities. Couples’ activities and socials are also available, so husbands can be involved. There is never any pressure. You can try something once or become a regular participant. Membership dues are $25 yearly, and small fees may be charged for specific activities in which you participate. © The New Westsiders. All rights reserved. |
